This Cookie Policy explains how and why we use cookies and similar technologies on the SoftPowerLab.pl website (the “Service”). It supplements the [Privacy Policy](LINK to Privacy Policy) with respect to tracking technologies, in line with the requirements of the ePrivacy Directive and Polish Electronic Communications Law.
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on a User’s device (computer, phone, tablet) while browsing. Cookies help recognize a User’s device on subsequent visits, enable certain website functions (e.g., maintaining a session, remembering display preferences), and collect anonymous statistical information about how the Service is used.
Cookies typically contain the name of the domain that placed them, the storage period on the device, and a unique identifier (a string of characters). Information collected via cookies can be read again by our Service on future visits (first-party cookies) or by other services/companies (third-party cookies) whose tools we use.
We use different types of cookies in the Service, which can be categorized in several ways:
Session cookies – stored temporarily, only during a browser session (until it is closed). They support, for example, maintaining login status or completing multi-step forms.
Persistent cookies – remain on the User’s device for a defined period even after the browser is closed. They have an expiration date (e.g., 30 days, 6 months, 2 years, depending on the function). They help remember User preferences longer (such as language selection or cookie choices) and count returning visits.
First-party cookies – set by the SoftPowerLab.pl domain and read only by our Service.
Third-party cookies – set by external services whose functionalities are implemented in our Service (e.g., Google Analytics, LinkedIn social/marketing tools). They allow these providers to recognize the User on other websites using the same tools.
Necessary (technical) cookies: These are essential for the proper operation of the Service and the availability of its core functions. They include cookies used for:
maintaining a User session after login (if the Service includes a login area),
User interface settings (e.g., language selection, contrast),
operating the cookie consent mechanism (a cookie that remembers the User’s choices regarding acceptance/rejection of other cookies).
Without these cookies, the Service could not properly deliver some functions. Under applicable law (Electronic Communications Law – Art. 82(3)), we may use them without prior consent, but the User can still block them via browser settings (which may, however, cause the Service to function incorrectly).
Analytics (statistical) cookies: These are used to collect information about how visitors use the Service—what pages they visit, how long they stay, and what device/browser they use. In our Service, analytics cookies mainly come from Google Analytics (provided by Google Ireland Ltd.). Google Analytics sets various cookies to distinguish users and attribute activity (e.g., _ga – a unique identifier stored for 2 years). The collected data is used to create aggregated statistics, such as which content is most popular.
We use Google Analytics with IP anonymization enabled, which means Google truncates part of the visitor’s IP address before storing or processing it. Even so, we require your consent for analytics cookies—on your first visit you can accept or reject them via the cookie banner. If you decline, they will not be active and we will not collect analytics about your visit (aside from anonymous server-side data such as logs).
Marketing cookies: These are used for marketing purposes, including profiling and showing personalized ads. SoftPowerLab.pl currently uses minimal marketing tools—potentially including the LinkedIn Insight Tag connected to our LinkedIn profile. The Insight Tag sets cookies that allow us to analyze the effectiveness of LinkedIn activities (e.g., whether visitors came from our posts/ads) and to build audiences for LinkedIn ads. Data collected by LinkedIn may include: the LinkedIn user identifier (if logged in), the URL visited, IP address, and device/browser information.
Marketing cookies are used only if you consent in the cookie banner. If you do not consent, marketing scripts (such as LinkedIn) remain inactive. You can change your decision at any time via the cookie settings available in our Service.
Possible future marketing integrations: At this time, we do not use Facebook Pixel, Google Ads cookies, or similar tools. If this changes, we will update this Policy and request your consent for new cookie categories.
3.1. Consent via banner: On your first visit to the Service, you were shown a cookie banner asking for consent to analytics and marketing cookies. You can:
accept all cookies (“Accept all”),
refuse (“Reject” or “X” — in that case only necessary cookies are used),
open “Settings” and choose cookie categories based on your preferences.
3.2. Changing your choice / withdrawing consent: You can change cookie settings at any time using:
the cookie management icon/widget (green ☰ icon in the bottom-left corner) — clicking it opens the preferences panel; or
the “Cookie settings” link in the footer (visible on every page).
After changing settings, remember to save your preferences (e.g., “Save selection” in our CMP).
Withdrawing consent means the relevant cookies will be disabled for future actions/page reloads and, where possible, removed from your browser. Note: some cookies already installed by third-party tools may not be removed automatically—then you may need to delete them manually in your browser settings.
3.3. Browser settings: Most browsers allow cookies by default. You can manage cookies directly in your browser by:
deleting all stored cookies,
blocking cookies globally or for selected sites,
enabling notifications each time a cookie is stored.
Details are available in your browser’s Privacy/Security settings. Note that restricting necessary cookies may affect Service functionality.
3.4. Third-party cookies: Cookies from external providers such as Google or LinkedIn can also be managed using their tools. For example:
Google (Analytics/Ads): Google provides a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics and ad personalization settings (adssettings.google.com).
LinkedIn: ad settings are available in your LinkedIn account (privacy settings → ads). You can disable ad personalization off LinkedIn. LinkedIn’s cookie policy is available on LinkedIn.
3.5. Important: If you use multiple devices or browsers, you must change cookie settings separately on each one. Your banner choices are stored as a consent cookie in your browser (e.g., softpowerlab_consent=[values]) with an expiry of [6 months]. After that time, we may ask you to choose again.
